Quilt preparation
- Please assure that your quilt top is clean, seams pressed flat, points and threads clipped. Quilt top should be square and trimmed to the correct size (measuring the same in at least 3 locations). This will help to prevent warping and folds. Pins and basting threads should be removed. You may place one safety pin to indicate the top of the quilt.
- You may provide your own backing or purchase material from me at a price comparable to those found in fabric stores. If you are providing your own backing, it should be pressed flat and measure 8” larger than your top (4” on every side).
- Pressing quilt top or backing (only done if very wrinkled) $20
- Piecing backing fabric $20 per seam
Batting
- I prefer and sell Quilter’s Dream batting for its high quality and great customer service. I will happily include batting information in my quote to you. My batting prices are comparable to batts for sale in fabric stores.
Quilting
- Thread fees are $2/bobbin
- Minimum charge $50
- Edge-to-edge: 3 cents per square inch
- Semi-custom begins at 5 cents per square inch
- Custom quilting begins at 12 cents per square inch
